quattro®
The name quattro® stands for the Audi brand and its sporting successes more than any other. It goes without saying that this tried-and-tested technology is also standard on the new Audi S4 where it provides a unique driving experience. Optimised for the enhanced requirements of an S model, quattro® transfers the potent 440 Nm of torque from the 3.0 V6 TFSI engine to all four wheels, ensuring optimum power delivery and grip in all situations.

Audi drive select
A sports car that leaves nothing to be desired, even in terms of comfort? The Audi drive select allows you to choose between comfort, auto and dynamic at the press of a button. The throttle characteristic, shift points and, if ordered, the hydraulic damper control, dynamic steering and quattro® with sports differential are specially adapted for every driving mode.

quattro® with sports differential
'Vorsprung durch Technik' never stands still. This principle is also the basis of quattro® with sports differential. It combines the advantages of quattro® technology with a completely new differential that accelerates the rear wheels individually. In this way the Audi S4 is noticeably more agile, especially when cornering. When steering into and accelerating out of bends, power is diverted to the outside rear wheel. You can control the response characteristic of quattro® with sports differential individually with Audi drive select.

S tronic 7-speed dual-clutch transmission
S tronic, the automatic 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, combines the comfort of an automatic with the sportiness of a manual gearbox – and it does so with extreme efficiency. The optional S tronic comprises two clutches: if you accelerate in second gear, for example, third gear is already preselected in preparation. When the ideal shift point is reached, the twin multi-plate clutch reacts in a flash: the first clutch opens while the other closes immediately. The gear change is completed within just a few milliseconds without any noticeable interruption in the power flow.

Audi Side Assist
This lane change assistant uses radar sensors to help you monitor the car’s blind spot and the traffic situation behind the vehicle. The light in the wing mirror warns you if a detected vehicle would be a hazard were you to change lane.

adaptive cruise control
The optional adaptive cruise control automatically regulates the distance from traffic ahead. If a car ahead of you slows down, the system also reduces your speed. If the vehicle in front brakes suddenly, the system first warns you with an audible signal before briefly applying the brakes if necessary.
