Spectacular sports car study

The sensation at the 1991 IAA in Frankfurt was a sports car study. A flat sports coupé with V6 mid-engine and a spectacular aluminium body. When rumours emerged that the Audi quattro® Spyder was going to be built, Audi dealers received hundreds of enquiries. But in the end, only two prototypes were constructed

Highlights

V6 mid-engine
The V6, installed transversely behind the seats, has an output of 128 kW (174 bhp). This mid-engine concept ensures that weight is distributed optimally.

Aluminium body
The aluminium body is 20 - 40 percent lighter than a comparable steel body. That is why the vehicle only weighs 1100 kilograms.
