Australia’s Premier Awards Evening Celebrates Australian Women of Achievement.
InStyle and Audi in early May announced the second annual Women of Style Award winners at a glittering red carpet ceremony in Sydney.
Nicole Kidman received double honours, scooping two awards for News/Entertainment and Readers’ Choice. InStyle readers nominated Nicole Kidman as the country’s leading female entertainer, as testament to the star’s enduring place in the nation’s heart.
Other award winners included Kirrily Johnston (Fashion), Deborra-lee Furness (Charity/Community), with a tie in the Arts/Culture category and trophies awarded to actress Deborah Mailman and artist Del Kathryn Barton.
Entrepreneur Naomi Simson triumphed in the Business category. Simson founded experiential gift e-tail business RedBalloon in 2001 as a one-woman start-up. Nine years later, RedBalloon has an annual turnover turnover of more than $20 million and over 2,500 experiences available.

Unable to attend, Deborra-lee Furness nominated her mother to receive her award on her behalf – a fitting gesture, the week following Mother’s Day.
Nicole Kidman, currently in Hawaii with filming commitments, accepted her award via video.
Danielle van Camp, 25, from Sydney, was also awarded a $10,000 InStyle and Audi Style Scholarship to help pursue her eponymous fashion label. Her luxurious aesthetic, meticulous detailing and steadfast commitment caught the judges’ eyes.
Last year’s Style Scholarship winner, Rachel Cassar, used the grant to fund an exhibition at London Fashion Week where she formed a special relationship with a Hollywood PR agent keen to get her garments on the red carpet - her designs have since been modelled by Rihanna.
